The Kraft Family Says Army/navy Game Ticket Demand At Gillette Stadium Is Greater Than Taylor Swift

Let's get a few things clear right from jump street before the Swifties and Keegs come for my head:

I didn't say this, Jonathan Kraft said this.

"I can tell you that the ticket demand for this game is greater than any AFC Championship game that we've hosted here, greater than Taylor Swift," Kraft said.

I am very much a big fan of Taylor Swift. I think she is the greatest songwriter of our generation and can/should be/is mentioned alongside the likes of Dylan, Springsteen, King, Wonder, McCartney. Don't believe I am a fan? Would Spotify wrapped lie?

Sidenote - Look At Us Now from Daisy Jones and The Six is a pretty sick song and not even for a fake band.

Some of you are trying to make heads or tails of this because Taylor's concerts, and more specifically the ticket sales, were all anyone could talk about this summer and rightfully so. She is a generational talent. She is an amazing performer. You know what she isn't? A 260lb fullback coming through the A gap with his hair on fire ready to take someone's soul.

That is all this comes down to really - in America, football is still king.

On top of that, let's look at the facts. We are talking about the greatest rivalry in college football full stop. I don't have time to debate the rest of you who want to clamor for Michigan/Ohio State or Auburn/Alabama or Nichols College/Curry. It is arguably the greatest rivalry in all of sports due to the teams playing, what they represent, the history of the programs, and what they choose to do after college.

"It's an atmosphere that in my experience over the past couple years, I don't think anything really matches it," said Army captain Jimmy Ciarlo.

"I remember getting phone calls from people deployed and watching the game at 2 o'clock in the morning their time," said Navy captain Xavier Arline. "Everyone watches this game, there's a lot of weight on it.

I can remember being in Iraq and begging my buddy to have his platoon switch missions with me the day of the Army/navy game just so I would be in front of a TV for kickoff. It is not to be missed, even from a war zone. Also, shout to Ciarlo being a Jersey guy. Keep an eye on him on 12/9 that's for sure.

Another fact we must point out - Taylor did 3 shows at Gillette while this is 1 game. It is more exclusive. When Taylor's show ended, you could go home and listen to her albums on repeat for as long as your heart desired and while different than the live version, it still provided entertainment. For this game, once the final whistle blows, that's it. You don't get another crack at it until next year.

Finally, in a country that is more divided than ever, football brings us together. Nothing brings us together more than the purity of the Army/navy game. As much as Taylor's music is divine, I don't know that it unites people the way football does in this country.

OH! One other thing. Taylor didn't parachute into the stadium with her guitar the way Army and navy's parachute teams will jump in with the game balls so we get extra points for that.

Not for nothing, but playing the game in the backyard of where the Revolutionary War started with two schools who produce leaders for our nation's Army and navy is just not something you can compete with even if you are a generational musician. Sorry, Taylor.

Beat navy!

P.S. The Barstool CFB Show will be there for the game along with some familiar faces. More info to come next week.
