The Bears Should Draft Caleb Williams And Play Him With Justin Fields On Offense At The Same Time

What the Bears should do if they end up with the #1 pick in the NFL Draft next season, which they probably will, has been a hot topic. Do you trade Justin Fields and draft Caleb Williams? Keep Justin Fields and trade the #1 pick? Hire a hit man to murder the entire McCaskey family so you can get a new owner and maybe have a chance of being a competent franchise again? A lot of things are on the table.

But I have an idea that nobody is talking about. A idea that nobody has the balls to try, but if they could pull off, would make them one of the most influential people in the history of football. Play 2 QB's on the field at the same time. All game long.

What else are the Bears doing? They're a dysfunctional franchise. They can't get much worse. Nobody relevant has ever tried this before. Draft Caleb Williams. Keep Justin Fields. Play them both at the same time.

I know that everyone hates the 2 QB system, but nobody relevant has truly tried to run an offense with 2 QB's on the field at the same time. But if any 2 QB's have the skill set to do it, and are athletic enough enough to be a threat outside of just passing the football, it's Justin Fields and Caleb Williams.

The thing about football is that we've only scratched the surface of what plays you could really run on offense. I've been begging for teams to really open up the playbook for a long time. The rules of football allow you to do SO many different things on offense. But everyone plays within a box. Hand it off to the running back. Throw it to a receiver. If you get really crazy your QB might run the ball frequently. For a few years people ran the shitty wildcat formation. Everyone is the same. Every team's offense, from Pop Warner to the NFL is all based off on the same idea of what an offense should look like. But there's so much else you could do. I've been begging teams to incorporate more downfield laterals for year. The Chargers actually did it the other night and it was fucking awesome.

Shit like that can work. Sometimes people do get creative and try fun things. But NOBODY has tried to run 2 QB's at the same time as their primary offense. There has to be a way to make that work. And again, if any 2 QB's can do it, it's Justin Fields and Caleb Williams. They're plenty athletic to be an offensive threat beyond just throwing the football.

Now let me be very clear about something. And I can't stress this enough. I'm not equipped to draw up legitimate gameplan for how to get this strategy to work. I'm not a creative football coach.

But since I'm writing this................. here are two plays I designed myself.

Ok… in hindsight those are way overly complicated. I got carried away on PowerPoint. I understand those have massive flaws and would likely never work in a million years. I'm not an offensive genius. I'm just showing you that there are options. I know there are some psycho offensive coordinators out there who would salivate at the opportunity to reinvent the game of football with the 2 QB's at once system. Imagine if it worked and that coach became the man to change the entire NFL? That would be so fucking cool. Instant Hall of Famer. There are so many different things you could do with 2 capable throwers on the field. And if you're the Bears, what the hell do you have to lose?

Do it, Bears.
