A Detroit Sports Radio Host Opened His Show With A FLAWLESS 12 Minute Annihilation Of The Detroit Pistons

For people who don't know, Mike Valenti is the most successful and polarizing sports radio personality in all of Detroit. Love him or hate him, you do listen. I consider him the Kyle Schwarber of Detroit Sports Radio. When he makes contact, he's hitting nukes. We're talking 450-foot bombs over the centerfield fence. But he has a tendency to strike out a lot. This one was on the barrel.

I don't disagree with a word of this. Here's how shitty the Detroit Pistons are. This current week is one of the most electric weeks that Michigan sports have experienced in a while. The red-hot Detroit Lions are playing on Thanksgiving with a legitimate shot to be the one seed in the NFC. Michigan and Ohio State are both undefeated and play each other on Saturday. Yet, the Pistons have gotten under people's skin so much that the most popular radio show in the state is opening its show talking about them. I don't blame them. I'm glad people are finally as angry as I am. This is ridiculous. It doesn't even feel like there's a professional basketball team in the city of Detroit anymore. The days of DEEEEEE-TROOOIT basketball are so far gone that I have to look up YouTube highlights to remind myself that they happened that all.

Because it's so early in the season, I have a hard time believing Detroit will fire their GM Troy Weaver. There are some people with any organization who believe that this plan is working. I think they just believe they've had bad luck. But it's not bad luck. Tom Gores owns the Detroit Pistons, and he is a fool. He has owned this organization for over a decade, and at best, they've had a 44-win season in which they got swept out of the playoffs. You can make a strong argument he is the worst owner in sports right now. Say what you will about the Detroit Tigers. I'm not that big a fan of Chris Illich, but at least he's stepped aside to a point where Scott Harris and Jeff Greenberg can run things. I feel Tom Gores' fingers all over this organization, and it curses them like a plague. Valenti talked about that as well.

I'm really trying with these Detroit teams. God bless the Lions (I can't believe I just said that). They're giving us something. I'm never going to jump off the Tigers bandwagon, and fuck it; I'm even going to a Red Wings game tonight. But this Pistons team is a goddamn joke. They have gone so far beyond just being the worst organization in the city. They're one of the worst organizations in sports. They are in the worst place an organization could possibly be in. Because they are bad, but I don't see things getting better, at least not in the foreseeable future.
