Taylor Swift Has Been Named Apple Music's Artist Of The Year (Duh)

Taylor Swift reacts to being named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year: “I am so honored to be Apple Music’s Artist of the Year. Thank you to every single one of you for making this year the most incredible, joyful, celebratory year ever. From streaming the music nonstop to screaming it together in real life at the shows, dancing chaotically in movie theaters, none of this would have been possible without you. Thank you so much.”

CONGRATULATIONS MOTHER! Probably the most obvious award of all time, right? Apple also announced that Taylor is officially the most streamed female artist in history. SLAY QUEEN! No surprises here!

Here are the winners of years past for reference:

Jokes and internet jargon aside, at this point, is there any award Taylor HASN'T won? Any record she HASN'T broken? What could she possibly be aiming for moving forward? She's the most famous artist in the world, she just touched down in Argentina to kick off another international leg of the Eras tour, she's a billionaire, she's got a hot boyfriend - does Taylor officially have it all? I also wonder if she can even keep track of all the records she's breaking and awards she's winning. Obviously she has a team to do this for her but, does she wake up and hear this Apple Music announcement and think, "oh, yay! cool!" and continue on with her day? What really gets the needle moving these days?

I'm personally so excited for her tours to start back up. It became a fun weekend ritual to watch a grainy iphone live stream of her concert on tiktok, and I'm looking for that to start taking up my time again. Argentina is 2 hours ahead, so luckily this time we won't be up until 3 am waiting for the surprise songs. The big question is whether or not she's going to break out the new 1989 (Taylor's Version) vault tracks as surprise songs, and I think she absolutely will. My predictions are that the walls of the venues will be blown down by the volume of people screaming "IS IT OVER NOWWWW?" and I'm very much looking forward to the future goosebumps that video will give me.
