Here Are All Of The Best Movies And Shows Coming To (HBO)Max This Month. 'Winter's Bone', 'Misery'

 1. Gran Torino

After a Hmong teenager tries to steal his prized 1972 Gran Torino, a disgruntled, prejudiced Korean War veteran seeks to redeem both the boy and himself.

This movie got a lot of shit from performative, retrospective movie critics bit it still rocks.

2. Winter's Bone

An unflinching Ozark Mountain girl hacks through dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact.

This is a really good, under-appreciated movie that will always be my barometer for what Jennifer Lawrence can really do as an actress.

3. Defending My Life

A documentary about the comedian and filmmaker Albert Brooks which includes interviews from Sharon Stone, Larry David, James L Brooks, Conan O'Brien, Sarah Silverman and Jonah Hill.

Albert Brooks is such a treasure which is what makes this a must-watch to me. Just a real pleasant dude with a great sense for comedy and some of the best dad vibes in movies (highlighted by him playing one of the best pixar dads ever in Finding Nemo).
