Our Long Nightmare Is Over: Desmond Ridder Has Been Benched

YES! It took eight games, but Arthur Smith has finally seen enough of the worst quarterback in the NFL! A reasonable amount of time if you ask me!

I guess late really is better than never, but the fact this move took half the season is insane. Also, it may still not have happened if Desmond Ridder didn’t get banged up against the Titans and force Taylor Heinicke to come in. But the good news is we have a competent quarterback moving forward.

I'm sure Ridder is a great guy and has been trying his hardest, but watching that guy try to play quarterback in the NFL is like getting teeth pulled. If he played at Tennessee at the same level as he has for the Falcons, I seriously think I would have had a stroke by now.

Atlanta would probably be 6-2 if Heinicke had been the starter the entire season, but it’s still tied for first place in the NFC South and should now have a hopefully average offense to go along with a good defense. Just be average, that’s all I ask.

We’re back, baby. Rise Up. I will gladly take a ride on the Heinicke Train after spending two months on the Ridder Rickshaw.

Get ready to learn DoorDash, buddy.
