Stop The Hate - Wendy's Chili Is Very Good

Wendy's is one of my favorite fast food places. Everything is good there. My standard order is a Dave's Double with everything and a side of either 6-piece spicy nuggets with honey mustard or a large bowl of chili to go with a medium Coke Zero. It changes based on mood/weather, but if I'm at Wendy's it'll likely be one of those two things. I mix in a Frostee once in awhile and they're salads are good too.

It's very easy to hate on things, but it's sometimes hard to stand up for what is right and I have to come clean: Wendy's Chili is very good. We all need to accept that as a society.

It's got great consistency, not too liquidy, but not too chunky either. They include onions and cheese if you're ok with it and that helps add in different flavor notes and gives the texture some variety. They include a couple packs of saltines to crumble over the soup that also adds it's own elements.

For some reason, they are the main chain/drive thru/fast food that offers this and it's great. I wish everyone would have Chili, but it'd have to be as good as Wendy's to suffice.

And while some people may think this is a hot (no pun intended) take, some of my co-workers (fast food mavens) stood arm in arm with me online to defend Wendy's Chili:

So if you're one of these too cool for school people who hates on Wendy's Chili despite never having tried it, do me a favor and shut up. And then do yourself a favor and go try it. You won’t be disappointed.
