The Arizona Diamondbacks Playing "Dreams And Nightmares" In The Locker Room After Beating The Phillies And Chanting "Mad Dog" After Retiring Chris Russo Was Downright Ruthless

Jesus Christ. I didn't know the Arizona Diamondbacks had that in them. Granted, I didn't know 95% of the Arizona Diamondbacks roster before the NLCS and still can probably name about 7 guys off the top of my head. But that is a group of downright ruthless vatos with as good a grave dancing ceremony as you will see this side of the Red Wedding.

Don't get me wrong, that group clearly earned it after the Phillies backup catcher was talking about celebrating in pools, Phillies fans were buying up tickets at their ballpark, and every person on the planet wrote them off after Game 2 outside of themselves, that dude who printed the Snakes Alive sign, and our very own John Rich.

I was wondering why the Dbacks didn't perform the Phillies beloved "Dancing On My Own" during their champagne orgy, but I think that song actually brings more sadness than joy to the Phillies and their fans considering it's the anthem of taking a lead in the biggest of spots then coming up jussssssst short.

As a perennially sad Mets fan I have to admit that it's also pretty great that this celebration will be lost in the annals of history as just a really fun time that ultimately meant nothing other than taking down a team most people, including myself, thought was invincible no matter how much I hated them.

Speaking of the Amazins, I truly don't understand how my beloved Mets could have a horror show season like they just did yet somehow still go 6-1 against the winners of the National League pennant. I guess as a wise man once said, "That's baseball Suzyn". Nonetheless, this blog is about the Arizona Diamondbacks, who once again are the kings of Queens for us sad sacks that only get joy out of other teams' misery this time of year.
