I Am All The Way Back In On Jimmy Fallon After Watching Him Casually Rip "Start Me Up" With Keith Richards Live On The Tonight Show

You know what? I never left. I've been a Jimmy fan since day one. Sure, he can get annoying but who can't? He's also a generational talent who's essentially been silenced by the format of his show. What needs to happen is NBC execs need to take the chains off Jimmy and let him rip. Keith Richards on the show? Great. Let's get him and Jimmy a cocktail before they start playing. It'll make the show better. Let's bring this thing all the way back to 1970s Carson-style late night. Where the vibes were fun, people were human, and there wasn't this overarching feel that big brother is watching. It was a place where celebrities could let their hair down and be themselves. Show their true colors and go off-script. Not be worried about whether or not they're going to understand the rules of whatever producer-concocted game they're being forced to play.

The formula to make this show cool is so simple - make things conversational. People want to hear stories from guests like Keith Richards. They want to see him and Jimmy shoot the shit, not watch them play games. And don't get me wrong I understand that numbers are important, but every time we get a glimpse of what this show could be, it's infuriating that it's not.

To Jimmy's credit he did tell this awesome story about Keith Richards smoking in the green room...

I mean who's gonna tell him to stop? That's really all I have for this one. I know Jimmy takes a lot of shit (particularly from his staffers), but everyone needs to cut the guy a break. He's doing the best with what he's got. Thanks for reading.
