In Defense Of This One True Colorado Fan Crying His Eyes Out After They Collapsed And Choked Away The Game Against Stanford

First things first, in case you missed last night's game (see: fell asleep due to being an old or just drunk) Hubbs has it covered here for you:

But it wasn't until the end of the blog that I saw this man. A man who we should be praising, not bashing. Every person in the world who says anything positive about Colorado is being accused of being a fair weather/bandwagon fan. I get it. They were the it team, everywhere, yada yada yada. You know how you beat bandwagon fan status?

You weep.

You cry into the arms of that chick and parlay it into a great night out.

But really this is every single person who has ever cared about a team. If you haven't cried or been near tears, I don't want to know you. Even the biggest of dynasties have those devastating losses. Every single fanbase of every single team can pinpoint that exact game where you were near tears or just broke down. For example:

Baltimore Orioles - fuck Jeffrey Maier

Kentucky basketball - 2015 Wisconsin was a shot clock violation and fuck Luke Maye

Kentucky football - I still can't believe LSU completed that Hail Mary

New York Giants - The bizarre last play against the 49ers in the playoffs

New York Knicks - say John Starks shooting numbers in game 7 one more time

And I'm a pretty sane person! You throw in some beverages, a little Colorado high and the fact you're watching a dream season collapse in front of you because your guys can't beat Stanford. Stanford! They fucking stink right now which is weird to see because Stanford always felt like the boring ass program who just constantly pumped out top-10/15 seasons.

Now it's easy to make fun of this man. He's weeping like my 1-year old when I say no. Only difference is he saw a backbreaking loss. I admire a man who can be so hopped up that you are reduced to tears. That's caring about a team. Look, we're all a little insane it just depends when it comes out. For this man it was double overtime.

I'm not saying you cry all the time, in sports it's acceptable basically three reasons:

1. Heartbreaking loss

2. You win a title

3. You see something you never thought you'd see - break a 30-year losing streak or something along those lines

If you truly care about a team, weep away. It makes no sense but it shouldn't be shameful. It's not his fault Colorado sucked in the second half and Travis Hunter was getting cooked. He couldn't do anything but cry. Let the man live!
