Don't You Dare Ask Kirk Cousins About Waiving His No-Trade Clause So The Vikings Can Ship Him Out

Kirk Cousins is one of most fascinating players in the NFL to me. Not because of his you like that or his love for Kohl's but rather how he's perceived. He's a fine quarterback. He's not great, he doesn't suck. He's somewhere in the middle - until a primetime game, then he typically sucks. It's also weird that we use win/loss records strictly for quarterbacks. I know, I know. They are the most important position arguably in all of sports but are we giving them a loss if a defense gives up like 38 points?

Now the Vikings stink this year because they can't win close games. Weird how regression happens one year later, almost a guarantee every single time. Justin Jefferson is on IR and Vikings fans are ready to blow the entire thing up. It makes sense, Kirk has been there long enough and you haven't won. You also don't have Justin Jefferson agreeing to a contract extension and we know the history of wide receivers with Minnesota. They leave. Moss, Diggs, etc. They are all gone despite being awesome.

Personally I want to see Kirk get traded because we rarely get trades that matter in the NFL. It just doesn't happen often. Give me an MLB or NBA type trade deadline move where we wait on Schefter tweets and get some trades out of nowhere. I'm not talking the 7th rounder for a disgruntled running back. I want some serious moves here. Kirk moves the needle enough for a trade to matter.

That said, this is the most Kirk answer of all time. He's worried about going 1-0, spoken like a true football guy. This also might be the most flustered or upset Cousins has ever been outside of playing. It's not worth his time damnit! He's got the Bears, who might be back according to a well-researched weekly power rankings I see, to worry about. He's got to figure out a way to just launch the ball without Justin Jefferson out there.
