Charles Oliveira OUT, Alexander Volkanovski IN - UFC 294 Has A New Main Event Just 10 Days Out

Last night, while Dana White's Contender Series was still on the air, news started trickling out that the UFC 294 main event of Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliveira may be OFF - and that Alexander Volkanovski was already being looked at as the replacement opponent, just 10 days out from the fight.

Dana White confirmed this news about an hour later during his presser, and revealed that Oliveira was cut while sparring last night, requiring stitches, which is the reason he was forced out of the rematch....

While it absolutely BLOWS that Oliveira is out, the rematch with Volkanovski is just as good a fight (if not better) so I'm very content with the swap. I think Islam Makhachev is fine with it, too, based on these comments from Coach Khabib....

Dana ALSO dropped the bombshell that the UFC 294 co-main event of Paulo Costa vs Khamzat Chimaev may be off due to the fact that Costa got surgery on his elbow super recently….

White said he hoped to have an answer for us within hours, but so far, still nothing. 

Here's all we know about Costa's surgery so far….

A few brave souls have already thrown their name in the hat for a fight with Khamzat….

….but Costa still swears he's fighting, so who knows what's gonna happen.
