This Retired Couple That Has Spent 450 Straight Days On A Cruise Because It's Cheaper Than A Retirement Home Are Smarter Than All Of Us

NY Post- A retired Australian couple became the stars of the sea as they spent nearly 500 days cruising around the world after booking 51 back-to-back cruises. Marty and Jess Ansen took off on their first cruise on June 16, 2022, after a long two years of strict COVID-19 lockdowns in Australia. They have yet to stop, booking a total of 51 trips so far.

The great-grandparents have stayed on board Princess Cruises’ 2,000-passenger Coral Princess for more than 450 days — longer than most of the crew, including the captains — and expect to stay onboard the ship for two years. “Eventually, I said to my [travel] agent: ‘Look, what ever comes, just book it,'” Marty told A Current Affair.  The couple claim it’s cheaper to cruise around the world for two years than pay for a retirement home. “It’s our lifestyle,” Jess told the outlet. The couple enjoyed cruises for decades prior to making it their full-time living situation. Among the perks of the lifestyle are that there’s always something to do, from dancing to dinner, and it comes with a maid to clean your room.

You know what? People say "goals" about a lot of things in 2023. People will say goals are Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet. People will say goals for Tom Brady & Irina Shayk. Hell, people will even say fucking goals if they're having a dirty martini at happy hour on a Tuesday early evening. That's the state of goals we're at as a society yet this couple? This couple right here? Marty and Jess Ansen? Now THAT is the literal definition of goals and I have absolutely no problem whatsoever in saying that due to their recent actions.

After spending 2 years locked down due to COVID in Australia this lovely couple who clearly have always enjoyed cruises basically just said fuck it and has been living on a cruise ship doing multiple cruises for 450 straight days because it's cheaper than a retirement home and they could NOT be making any more sense. The Ansens get to meet a bunch of new people. The Ansens get sweet dinners. The Ansens get a maid to clean their room. The Ansens have fun in tropical paradises traveling at sea literally every day and that is all one could fucking ask for when they're of age. Not to get sentimental here but being be with the person you love on a never-ending cruise instead of a retirement home is fucking beautiful Good for them. Hope they enjoy the hell out of it these next 2 years.
