Mark Stoops Can't Be Serious With This Rant Begging Kentucky Fans To Give More Money To NIL So We Can Compete With Georgia

Alright, this is a bad look. No other way to put it. Yeah, of course NIL could use more money. That's the dirty secret with Kentucky is we are way behind on NIL. But that doesn't have anything to do with not being prepared. That's how Kentucky looked against Georgia. Whether it was Devin Leary missing wide open passes or the defense missing tackles and assignments. NIL doesn't fix that. 

Don't get me wrong, Mark Stoops has been awesome. UK is invested in football. He's one of the 10 highest paid coaches in America. They are getting improvements in facilities and he's starting to recruit at a higher level, just look at next year's class for that. He's also had success. It's not same old Kentucky. They have the fourth most wins of any SEC team since 2018. That ain't a fluke. 

But you can't sit here and get pissed off at NIL and want fans to pay more money after you get your ass kicked. Take some blame that the team wasn't ready and then address NIL at a different time. All you do is piss off fans when you start asking for more money, especially when everyone knows how much money you make. I'm not saying Stoops needs to give a million bones to NIL or anything like that, but come on. 

And, hey, I want Stoops to demand more money and try to get over the hump. Let's be honest with ourselves here. This has been around for decades, but you can't do it after you ass kicked. And the sky is far from falling. Kentucky is 5-1 with the lone loss being at Georgia. The next game are what dictates the season. Missouri this week followed by a bye before Tennessee, Mississippi State, Alabama, South Carolina and Louisville. You win 3 of those, get to 8 wins and it's been a fine season. You'll finish with at least a .500 record in the SEC and wins over Florida for a 3rd straight year and some combo of those above. 

Finish the season and then start begging for more money. Let's just win some goddamn games now.
