Who Has It Better Than The City Of Philadelphia Right Now? Nobody. That's Who

The year is 2022. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the only undefeated teams remaining in the NFL at 5-0, and the Philadelphia Phillies have a 1-0 series lead in the NLDS over the 100+ win Atlanta Braves.

I know that ultimately the goal for any season is to win a championship. And I know that over the past however many deals, the city of Philadelphia has lost more championship games/series than plenty of cities have even gotten the chance to play for. But at the end of the day, there are 124 teams across the 4 major sports in America. 124 teams, and only 4 of them get a chance to end their season as champions. So you have a 3% chance of winning a championship every season, and a 97% chance of not winning a championship. If that's the only goal, then 97% of us are absolute fucking losers.

Instead, the more realistic goal is to just give you a reason to believe. To have a team that gives you a chance year in and year out. Not a flash in the pan, not a magical season, but a team capable of dolling out massive shit pumpings for a sustained amount of time. Something like this

Or this

Teams, players, and fans who are all made for each other and able to feed off of each other. It might not result in a championship every single year. You'd hope that at some point it will at least result in one. But either way, we can just let these past two years of the Phillies and Eagles get taken for granted if they don't end up with a ring.

Plus, the Phillies and Eagles are set up in a position where they can sustain their success just long enough for the Flyers to catch up on the tail end once Matvei Michkov comes over from Russia. The Flyers are going to suck this year, but at least there's hope in the franchise right now. The Sixers are an absolute joke and make it downright impossible to root for their success, but we don't even have to talk about those losers. We have two wagons at the moment, and one future wagon currently on the assembly line. I'll take 3 out of 4 teams. Just look around the country right now and tell me who wouldn't want to be us.
