The Nathaniel Hackett Revenge Game Is Here: Jets Players Are Talking About Getting 'Payback' For The Broncos Throwing Him Under The Bus

[Source] - Center Connor McGovern believes Hackett was unfairly criticized by Payton, who told USA Today in late July that Hackett's 15-game tenure last season was "one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL." McGovern said they'd love for Hackett to get "payback" at Empower Field, where the two 1-3 teams meet.

"He got thrown under the bus -- and then they tried to drag him under the bus," McGovern told ESPN. "We wanted to rally around him from the start. He's such a good guy. I don't know how you want to say this -- the opportunity he has -- but we want to make the most of him being our playcaller.

Oh no. Payback for Nathaniel Hackett! I gotta admit, I'm so happy the game is here and these two teams are where they are. The Jets have momentum - if you want to call it that - for playing the Chiefs tight. Nothing like celebrating a loss as a professional sports team and not tanking. That's how you know you're ready for revenge. Meanwhile the Broncos, well they stink. Congrats on beating the Bears, but you're still a team who gave up 70 points. Never thought I'd see 70 points in an NFL game, but with Sean Payton you can't rule anything out. 

Thrown under the bus? Everyone agrees Hackett was a garbage head coach. I mean, there's evidence of it. There's a record and everything. Sure, Russ stunk but it goes hand-in-hand with Hackett. They couldn't even get plays called in correctly. They constantly took penalties. They were flat out atrocious. I don't care who you are, you have a season like that and you're a bad coach.

Now of course this all stems from Sean Payton calling them out in the offseason. Frankly, I found it hilarious because we never get coaches doing this. Plus, Payton, it ain't Drew Brees New Orleans anymore. He's finding out first hand how bad the Broncos are. Plus sports needs shit like this. It's entertainment and competition. Stop with the unwritten rules and codes. Say what's on your mind and deal with it. 

I didn't know we needed bad blood (shit) between a coach who didn't last a year and some 1-3 teams, but here we are. I'm officially excited for this game. There will be one hilarious loser. Either Hackett gets his revenge, Sean Payton looks like a bum and we laugh. Or Sean Payton runs the score up and we laugh. It's a win-win for those who aren't around either team. But let's be honest.
