If You Don't Have A Team In The MLB Playoffs, You Are A Fool If You Don't Root For The Baltimore Orioles

Okay, maybe I'm biased. But I think that if you don't have a dog in the fight or your team is eliminated, the Baltimore Orioles should 1,000% be your team for this October. You're a fool if you don't see that this team is special.

You've seen for a while that I have been saying to be patient and the Orioles will be here. Well they are now officially here. Best team in the AL, AL East Division champs, 101 wins only 2 seasons after losing 110, built from the ground up with top prospects, and the best damn story in baseball. How could you not root for this team? I mean where do I start? Is it Adley's Opening Day incredible 5-5 performance?

Is It Cedric Mullins' christening the Bird Bath by hitting for the cycle?

Is it the weekend Gunnar had in Tampa?

I could keep going on and on, they are your mom's favorite team for a reason. They have the young, baseball sexy prospects turned beasts like Grayson Rodriguez, Gunnar Henderson, Kyle Gibson, Jordan Westburg and Adley Rutschman. They have the savvy vets like Austin Hays, Anthony Santander, Adam Frazier and Cedric Mullins. They have the feel good story of Ryan O'Hearn. They are incredibly likable and have played like animals all year long while also having fun.

Plus, they have an owner who tried to fuck EVERYTHING up midway through the season by suspending their announcer for basically saying how good the team has gotten.

They had Adley putting on a show in the Home Run Derby that won over baseball, they had Cedric robbing a HR and hitting one and the same inning, they have the worst to first storyline in an incredible way because of how bad they were. All they did was play well and won the best division in sports. This AL East was a god damn bloodbath. Basically came down to the last week.

This is a team that got picked to win 76.5 games and had to watch the Rays tie the MLB record for best starts, they had to listen to how the Yankees were better, how the Blue Jays were better, how the Sox were better. All they did was kick ass and keep it moving. 91 series in a row without being swept. And that is without making basically 0 moves this offseason and adding two very mediocre pitchers at the deadline. This team played .625 baseball all year long when people said they'd likely miss the playoffs.

How is that not a spectacular story to follow? How can you not root for these guys? No offense to the other teams, but no one comes close to how likable this team is. No other park out there compares to Camden Yards.  No other team out there compares to this team in terms of likability. This is the team you should be watching this October. Now we go.
