It's Never A Good Look To Do A Choreographed Routine Before A Kickoff Only To Give Up An 86 Yard Touchdown

Ummm FIRE UP CHIPS...I guess.

I feel like no good can come from an announcer complimenting a team's choreography before the kick off. I love football and college football, but I hate cutesy shit. Don't give me your dance routine. Be a normal team and kick the football off. This is a prime example of football karma. I'm just curious, what good comes from having some wacky formation on a kickoff? I understand, potentially trying to set it up to make it look like you may attempt an onside kick. I've seen teams do that before to varying levels of success, but to have a set-up choreographed routine seems a bit silly.

I probably shouldn't be one to complain. Central Michigan is playing New Hampshire right now. Man, I'm not going to claim that Central Michigan should be hanging with the big boys, but they shouldn't be tied at 14 with New Hampshire in the second quarter. I lived in Mount Pleasant for several years. It's an awesome college town. If you put together a good product, those fans will show up. I think Jim McElwain is a good coach. I'm surprised they haven't been able to be more competitive in the MAC.

With that said, I shouldn't be ripping on Central Michigan here. They're not the ones responsible for this nonsense. For a directional school in the middle of Michigan, Central Michigan is responsible for some pretty bizarre moments in college football over the last decade. I was actually at the game when the band was told not to perform during plays and got scolded by the referee.

This wasn't at home, but I'll tell you what, we had one hell of a night at O'Kelly's after Cooper Rush company shocked the world against Oklahoma State that one year.

I wish there was more video of the aforementioned dance that the announcer was talking about. Look, if New Hampshire goes on to pull off the upside, nobody's going to give a shit about how they lined up for a kickoff. That's the risk you take when you, well, take risks. But this is the kind of shit that can only happen in college football. It's bizarre, it's funny, but I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't a little bit charming.
