The Russian Gas Is Flowing, Hockey Season Is Officially Here

Tim Stapleton first broke the news to Chiclets Nation about the Russian Gas in his hilarious interview with Spittin' Chiclets and we've had a ton of fun joking about it ever since. Four years later after countless sanctions, suspensions, fines, and now in the middle of a war doping is still alive and flourishing in Russian hockey.

It's not a big surprise to see a player doping now especially since Russia can't compete in International play but to see an entire team testing positive for illegal drugs is something else. The team was Tolpar UFA a junior team of 16-20 year olds in the Ural Mountains.

The players were quick to blame the strength coach, saying he forced them to take the drugs. Reports show that he ywas spending just over $2,000 a month on the gas. The best part of the story is that they tested the entire organization and the team masseuse and an equipment manager tested positive, nothing like getting juiced up to tape some wrists and open the forward door.

To hear the guy's reactions to this story listen to this week's Spittin' Chiclets.
