Game Notes Countdown To The NHL - #32 San Jose Sharks

Conference: Western
Division: Pacific
2022-23 Recap: This team was really bad unless, of course, I bet against them because then they looked like the 76-77’ Canadiens, but I digress. There was plenty of turmoil all year as rumors swirled about trading Meier and Karlsson and it really distracted them from playing with any sort of consistency.
Biggest Loss: Erik Karlsson - He might not be the player he was during the Sens run a few years back but the guy can still produce points and log serious minutes. He is so dangerous in the offensive end and only will be better with the group of forwards the Pens have. The Sharks got a nice package back but losing a 101-point D-man is always rough.
Biggest Addition: Anthony Duclair - The well-traveled winger leaves the Sunshine State for the pastures of NorCal. In Florida, Duclair showed glimpses of becoming a big-time scorer, but they too gave up on him. In a contract year, he will be motivated and looking for a bite at the apple to get paid one last time.
2023-24 Outlook: The team will struggle in all areas on the ice once again and will be looking at a top 3 lottery pick next year at the NHL Draft in Las Vegas.
Player To Watch: William Eklund - The 2021 #7 overall pick who has 7 points in 17 games during his brief Sharks career, should see an increase in ice time and production. The Sharks are a team that will have to rely on players like Eklund to be regulars in the lineup to build towards the future.
2023-2024 Season Bet: Sharks under season team points 66.5 -115
