NHL Team: Winnipeg Jets

Conference: Western

Division: Central

2022-23 Recap: The Game Notes crew was riding the Jets for a while, but they blew some easy games, so Army and I had to jump off. They did give Vegas a little bit of a fight at the start of the 1st Round series but eventually went away quietly. I am not sure there was another team in the league where there was more talk about trades and that they should blow it up….

Biggest Loss: Pierre-Luc Dubois - The unhappy French man was moved to L.A. for some great pieces but a center with his skill and size will be tough to replace.

Biggest Addition: Gabriel Vilardi - The big return in the Dubois trade is a 1st round pick who’s averaged just over a .5 point a game in his NHL career and looks to be on the verge of a major breakout season.

2023-24 Outlook: I love the Dubois trade and the assets they got in return but their biggest strength is in the crease. If Hellebuyck is in Winnipeg all season then the team could make the playoffs. If he is shipped out at any point, then we won't see a whiteout at the Canada Life Centre this April.

Player To Watch: Cole Perfetti - The Jets 1st round pick in 2020 is in a position to have a breakout season with the departures of Dubois and Wheeler. More power play time and playing in the top 6 all season should lead to a big season.

2023-2024 Season Bet: Miss the playoffs Yes -115, Hellebuyck is dealt.

Everybody Rides!!!
