Chase Young Has Had A "Stinger" For Weeks Now And Might Not Be Cleared For Week 1
Is this guy the most cursed man in recent history? I mean my GOD. So much potential and he cannot stay on the field. I'm not going to say it yet because Chase is only 24 years old but I'm getting weird Greg Oden vibes from him. It's one thing after another, the most freak accident, "what can go wrong, will go wrong" injury situation we've seen in quite some time. After 7.5 sacks his rookie season and looking like an absolute BEAST, he tore his ACL and played 9 games in 2021, only got on the field for 3 games last season, and now has missed 2 weeks with what must be the most brutal "stinger" of all time. Make it make sense!
I feel for Chase. I think the word "bust" gets thrown around too liberally- to me a bust is a guy like Ryan Leaf who just didn't have it. Chase simply cannot stop getting injured. That's not how I define bust, but certainly trending towards and all time disappointment.
The thing is, as I said up there, he's still young. There's still plenty of time. It could just be a string of terrible luck and then he'll have 10 straight healthy years, who knows.
For now, let us hope this "stinger" gets massaged out and he's back on the field being a monster soon. The good news is week 1 is against the Cardinals, so if he needs the time we have the utility of playing the worst team in the league. I would just prefer to see him terrorizing QBs and not riding the stationary bike.
