Alright so I hope this means we can officially, OFFICIALLY stop talking about name changes! I swear to god we have been talking about this team's god damn name since I was born. The South Park episode was in September 2014, 9 years ago. Do you realize how insane that is? And still, to this day, we are *still* talking about the name.

But now today, we can finally stop talking about "Redskins". I get people will always be upset about the name change. There was a ton of history there, no doubt. But personally, me, I can move on from the name because a new name doesn't erase the memories, the players, the Super Bowls, etc. Those still exist. It's just a name. To me, the important thing is the city. They represent DC. The burgundy and gold jerseys mean more to me than the name itself. And plus, if the Commanders start winning, all we'll hear is "Hail to the Commanders" and it will start to grow on everyone. Winning cures all.

I will say though, in retrospect, Washington Football Team rocked. It was unique, the jerseys/helmets were cool, and it grew on a lot of people. If they stopped at WFT, I think we'd be in a good place right now.

Again, there are people who will always be grumps about the team name because they hate change and cherish tradition, and I get that completely. But once we start winning, we'll be able to move on and never talk about the name thing again.
