After Seeing Jalin Hyatt At Giants Practice Today, I Have No Choice But To Declare Him A Future All-Pro
HO-LY SHIT. I was expecting big things out of Jalin Hyatt after reading his scouting report, watching his Tennessee YouTube highlights on loop, and seeing him absolutely dust a safety with a lethal combination of speed, route running, and the worst coverage I have ever seen.
But that 20 second clip of Jalin jogging then catching a lazy floater in practice with nobody around has convinced me Canton is a lock simply because of the digits on his jersey. Don't get me wrong, 84 is an elite wide receiver number that scientifically instantly boosts your catching and route running ability at least 5 Madden points, which is something you want for a guy that was known for being a burner in college.
But seeing someone with the talents of Hyatt wearing 13 in blue tells me that Jalin is playing for keeps while also having me dreaming of his All-World speed dusting DBs like the guy who used to rock that number once upon a time...
Now all we gotta do is make sure Jalin doesn't make a mindblowing play in prime time against the Cowboys that results in the media to write about every little thing he says/does that inevitably starts the clock for when he leaves the Giants, which will cause his career to go from first ballot Hall of Famer to bouncing around the NFL. (Sidenote: Do you realize how every receiver who left Eli was considerably worse than when they had 10 throwing them the ball yet Eli was always getting clowned by casuals that barely watched Giants games other than when he led them to two Super Bowls over the greatest coach/QB/dynasty we will ever see? Funny how that works).
Anywayyyyy while I'm here, I wanted to weigh in on the other Giants that changed their numbers after Cut Day:
First off, I loooooove Deonte Banks switching to 25 because that's the number of a DB that can cause havoc in Wink's system as a ballhawk that will take multiple picks to the house. Gervarrius Owens wearing 39 makes perfect sense because that's a 7th round safety number if I've ever seen one. I l couldn't care less about Boogie Basham rocking the 4-5 like Jordan because the name Boogie trumps any number. And while I admittedly hated Isaiah Simmons going from 46 that fit his hybrid style that can play linebacker and defensive back, I've grown to like 19 considering the last guy that had it could lay the wood, even if that's pretty much the ONLY thing he did outside of rob the Giants of millions of dollars.

TL;DR - Jalin Hyatt is going to Canton after he goes to the Super Bowl multiple times with the Giants.
