ESPN Is Going To Show Select ACC Games And The College Football Playoff In Theaters

ESPN — ESPN has entered into a theatrical distribution agreement with Theater Sports Network to televise Atlantic Coast Conference college football games at movie theaters. Additionally, the agreement covers the New Year’s Six Bowl games including the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, the Capital One Orange Bowl, the CFP Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the CFP Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game, and the College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T. In all, the agreement includes approximately 75 games during the 2023-24 college football season.

Yes. Finally, someone gets it.

I don't want to throw my hat into the ring of the Barstool Theater Debate of 2023, but I enjoy going to movies — if for no other reason than being able to sit somewhere without your phone for two hours and enjoy a huge bucket of popcorn and ice cold Coca-Cola. It's a great vibe. I go see movies I don't even really care about just to enjoy the cinema for a little while.

Now you're telling me there will be college football on the big screen? Consider me there.

Going from games like Virginia-Boston College and Georgia Tech-Syracuse to the College Football Playoff is an interesting dichotomy for this project, but anyone going to watch college football in a theater is already a real sicko, so the former is probably more appealing anyway.

Imagine watching the Regal roller coaster right before kickoff of the National Championship? Absolute scenes.
