The Phillies Are Finally Primed To Win The World Series And The Entire Baseball World Needs To Take Notice

The Phillies erupted last night scoring 12 runs on another Ace start by Zack Wheeler to go to 71-58 on the year while improving on their Wildcard lead blah blah blah blah blah. It's awesome. It's all super fun having your team win consistently. But you know what else has happened recently, this past week specifically? The switch has been flipped. This team has got that swaggerjack back from last year's WS run and they are primed this season to avenge the knees of Jake Taylor and win the whole fucking thing.

Something very rare and special occurred during last night's game. The Philadelphia Phillies have been in existence since the Chester A. Arthur administration. 140 years, to be exact. And you know what just happened? The Phillies hit the most home runs in a single month in their entire franchise history.

48 dingers in 26 days. Incredible. S/o to Delco Diana who is going to be a focal point in Red October if she keeps those seats. Also, me no math good, but it's currently August 27th. That means they accomplished this feat with 5 days left to go in the month. Incredible hot shit by the boys in red. And it's not just the bats sparking flames in South Philly, either. The pitching has been underrated and extremely consistent all season long (don't dick us around today, Nola, please). In fact, the starters thru the bullpen deserve most of the credit for the Phillies having essentially the 2nd best record in The Show since June 1st.
If you thought last year's run was a fluke then you might not be able to think. This team is more talented from top to bottom, is almost 100% healthy (here's hoping for a Rhys WS return a la Schwarber in 2016 for the Cubbies) and is peaking at the exact right time. Red October can't come soon enough. It's going to be Bedlam At The Bank all Fall.
