The Benches Were Cleared And The Fellas Were Scrapping In The Final Game Of The PLL Regular Season

The PLL regular season wrapped up last night with Chrome taking on the Chaos. There are 8 teams in the league, and 7 of them make the playoffs. The Chrome were sitting in last place heading into the game, but still had the slightest chance to jump into the playoffs. All they had to do was win this game by...*checks notes*...13 goals. Okay. Tall order. Easier said than done. But you're saying there's a chance.

But down by 3 late in the 3rd quarter? That might be where the realization settled in that they'd be the only team to not make the trip to Boston next week for the quarterfinals. So with the season wrapping up, Connor Farrell of the Chrome figured he at least wanted to end the season with a bang. So he stepped up and absolutely obliterated Nick Rowlett on the Chaos. Speaking of chaos, that's what ensued following the hit.

Now to be fair, there were a heckuva lot more helmets being grabbed here than punches actually being thrown. I would have loved to see some of the boys drop the gloves here and let the fists fly. But the Chaos do have a playoff game next week to worry about, and probably didn't want to risk anyone being suspended for that game. But that's the exact type of scrap you need heading into the playoffs. The type of donnybrook that really brings the team together before things get going. There's no better team bonding experience than everybody grabbing a man and being ready for whatever happens next.

Also to be fair, I don't think Connor Farrell necessarily did anything wrong here. I mean, sure, it was a dickhead move. But he just set a pick and lowered his shoulder. It's not like he knew his season was over and decided to hack a guy's arm in half. But you drop a guy that hard, and you know that you're gonna have to answer the bell. Especially when the older brother of the dude you just leveled is out on the field already.

Anyway, brutally tough scene for the Chrome this summer. Got a big win in the final seconds of regulation in week 1 of the season, and then proceeded to lose every game after that. That win was on June 4th. That was damn near 2 full months ago. Nobody had to be more fired up for that final whistle of the season than everyone on that roster. Solid scrap, though.
