The Rest Of The Baseball World Will Rue The Day They Let Bryce Harper Heat Up In August

It's not very often you'll get a blog about a loss around these parts. So first off, credit to me for being a fair and balanced journalist.

But not all losses are created equally. In fact, sometimes a loss isn't even a loss at all. Because while the Phillies may have lost the game yesterday, they actually ended up with the biggest win of them all--Playoff Bryce is back.

Down 5-2 in the bottom of the 9th. Game tying run at the plate, and the bat is in Bryce Harper's hands. These are the moments that this sick bastard lives for. And these are the moments where this menace to society stepped up the most during last year's run in the postseason.

So far this season I'd say that most of Bryce's biggest moments have come on 1st base. He's been hitting perfectly fine, but he just hasn't had a ton of "that's why he's Bryce Harper and you're not" moments. If the Phillies want to do something big in October, they might need to rely on a few of those. Good news for Philly and bad news for everybody else on the planet is that Bryce Harper is heating the heck up.

5 home runs in his last 7 games including an inside-the-park that could have gotten Citizens Bank Park to register on the Richter scale. The oven is just preheating right now. That bitch is set to 500 degrees, and now Bryce Harper has all of September ahead of him to get nuclear before the playoffs start. Just imagine how dumb the rest of the league needs to be to let this man get hot right now.

All they had to do was hold out another few weeks. Make him question himself a little. At the very least, make the fans wonder if he has it in him for the playoffs this year. But now every time he steps up to the plate, 40 thousand fans are all going to be expecting him to do something special. Bryce Harper somehow senses and feeds off of that energy.

A loss isn't a loss if you ended up getting Bright Lights Bryce back in the process.
