The 2023 Philadelphia Phillies Officially Have "IT"

You feel that? Of course you do. You know these vibes. You feel it in the cockles. After a decade off, you felt them last year. And now, they're officially back at the perfect time.

The Philadelphia Phillies officially have that "IT" factor again.

What is "It"? The shit if I know. Maybe it's taking 2 in a row off your biggest competition for the playoffs and almost ensuring a postseason birth for the 2nd time since 2011. Maybe it's Trea Turner going from historically one of the worst FA signings in Philly history to back to being a superstar...in just a few weeks.

Maybe it's Bryce Harper returning from Tommy John surgery about half a season early, learning a brand new position FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM, and finally getting his power back with hitting 4 dingers in the last 6 games, including 2 straight.

Maybe it's the sell out crowds bringing Red October vibes in August. Maybe it's Michael Lorenzen coming over in a trade deadline deal and almost immediately pitches a no-no (kindly ignore his last start). Maybe it's the announcers goofiin' with the crowd in left field and when Tom McCarthy says to John Kruk to dunk his fries in the milkshake the Kruker responds by exclaiming, on-air, "I can't! I'm a diabetic!!!". Maybe it's Jose Alvarado finally coming back and the bullpen being full and healthy. Maybe it's the Daycare and Wet Bandits.

Maybe it's destiny.

Or it's just a combo of it all. Whether it's '93, 2007-2011, '22, or now, that feeling of magic is in the air. And hopefully this year it leads to a ring. Get ready for hell in South Philly. Red October is coming. Be prepared.
