Lucas Glover Simply Cannot Be This Much Of A Profuse Sweater Without Mixing In Some Darker Colors
There was a time when Lucas Glover could get away with this. Dude was just flying under the radar for a while. Really the only time you ever saw him is when he was heeling the shit out of a putt. But now that he's won twice on tour this year? There are a ton of eyes on Lucas Glover.
And as a guy who sweats my nuts off the moment the temperature gets above 65 degrees, I know how devastating that must be for him right now. Because guys who sweat like myself and Lucas Glover have been that sweaty for their entire life. We are far too cognizant of the idea that we are typically going to be the sweatiest person in a room, and that everybody is going to notice how disgustingly drenched we are. Summers are a constant war to just reduce how visibly disgusting you are.
Which is why I can't, for the life of me, understand Lucas Glover's approach here. In what world does a man who is that sweaty get to wear a grey shirt in the dog days of summer? In what world should a man who is that sweaty wear a pair of khaki pants out for a round of 18 holes?
At some point you just need to have a little more awareness out there. Read the scouting report, bud. If it's going to be 80+ degrees out, maybe switch on over to some darker shades.
And I'll admit that's a dilemma that all us sweaters have to face in the summer. Conventional wisdom would lead you to believe that wearing darker colors will make you feel hotter. But at the end of the day, you know your ass is still going to be sweating up a storm either way. Whether you're wearing the lightest shade of blue or not, that shit ain't keeping you cool enough to not be sweating through your shirt before you even take the putter out of your bag for the first time. So you go with the darker shades to buy you some time. Maybe you're not noticeably drenched by the time you make the turn, and you can pop into your locker to grab a new shirt for the back 9. Old hockey trick right there to bring 2 shirts with you to every round.
The fact of the matter is that Lucas Glover has to know he sweats like a lunatic. And you just figure a guy like that wouldn't want to constantly set himself up for failure by wearing so many light shades out there. For all of us who sweat like bandits, we have March and April to wear the lighter colors. Anything after that until October? It's navy, black, dark grey, etc. At the very least, you need to find some high quality moisture wicking material.
