The First Trailer For Benicio Del Toro's Detective Movie 'Reptile' Dropped And It Looks Solid As Hell

Nichols, a hardened New England detective unflinching in his pursuit of a case where nothing is as it seems, one that begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life

There are some very obvious things that should excite anyone about this. The first is that Benicio Del Toro is one of the best and most underrated actors working right now. He's hit another gear in his older age which is awesome to see.

There is a lot to love about the supporting cast. Alicia Silverstone being back in the movies is always a great thing and Justin Timberlake, like Del Toro but to a lesser extent, is severely under-appreciated. Dude can act! Michael Pitt is also an interesting add because it feels like I haven't seen him since Boardwalk Empire, which he was really good in. Add that all in with a old fashioned detective story and you got a great looking movie on your hands.

The two biggest hesitations are;

1. This is the first movie from director Grant Singer, who has done mostly music videos and commercials up to this point.

2. It's a Netflix joint. Netflix is a volume shooter, which has turned them into one of the least reliable distributors of content among the big streamers.

If Netflix wasn't involved, my hype would be way higher. But I'll just try to ignore that and get hyped up for my big boy Benicio to lay some detective action on us.
