Air Force Has Divided The Internet With Its New Uniform Commemorating The Doolittle Raid Of World War II
Air Force unveiled a new alternate uniform for the upcoming season commemorating the Doolittle Raid, the first American air operation to strike Japan in World War II. I guess unsurprisingly, this has caused an uproar on the internet from people who seemingly think this has something to do with the atomic bombs and/or people who were previously unfamiliar with the work of the United States Air Force.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Air Force has been involved in a war or two throughout the years and the guys playing in these this season will learn how to fly fighter jets and bombers when they graduate. I think the uniform about something that happened 80 years ago will be ok.
And again, this has nothing to do with Hiroshima or Nagasaki. I know you saw Oppenheimer and have newfound thoughts about the use of nuclear weapons, but Google is your friend. The only gripes I'm willing to consider are from the people pointing out that the Air Force didn't exist until 1947 and the Doolittle Raid was actually carried out by the Army and Navy. They used planes, though, so whatever.
This uniform is sick. Go Falcons.
