Rapper Big Boogie Says He Turned Down A College Scholarship Worth $5 Million At A School He Couldn't Remember To Pursue Rap

I was unfamiliar with the musical stylings of Big Boogie prior to seeing this video, but he seems to be quite the Renaissance man. He's become a successful rapper but also apparently turned down a 15/10/5 million-dollar scholarship at an undisclosed college in Jacksonville. What can't this man do?!

Having worked with Billy Football quite extensively for several years now, I know exactly what happened here. Once you've said, "$15 million", even though he got it all the way down to a much more reasonable and believable $5 million, there's no turning back at that point. You're going to have to either look ridiculous by saying you turned down what would be the largest scholarship ever given out by any college in history or look ridiculous by admitting you made that up. You have to just ride out the bit at that point.

Now, if I was alleging I turned down millions of dollars from a college — which it bears repeating has never been offered to any prospective student in history — I'd probably have one in mind to say if pressed on that. I get that this story was thrown together rather hastily, but just make one up. What's this guy gonna do, call the school and ask?

And then Big Boogie's reasoning for turning down such a reasonable sum of money was, "I was so younger, like, I didn't know what it was." You didn't know what $5 million was, pal? That's somehow the most egregious thing he said in the clip. Now I'm mad at this guy for something that never even happened.

I'm glad everything seems to have worked out for Big Boogie, though. Not many people turn down a $5 million scholarship and end up making it. He beat the odds.
