BREAKING: The NBA Is The Least Serious League To Ever Exist

This isn't anything new. I know this has been the case for years. I get the whole "THIS LEAGUE" phenomenon. But what are we even talking about here? A league where guys are making hundreds of millions of dollars to play a game, and the biggest story right now are some deleted words out of a Twitter bio after his teammate called the general manager a liar.
Folks in the comment section always bitch and complain about putting the SPORTS back in Barstool Sports. But you've got one of the 4 major leagues in North America right now coming off as more of a reality show than anything. It's the Kardashians but for dudes who like to crush some craft beer and a plate of nachos at the bar on a Saturday afternoon.
Again, there's nothing new about this. The NBA has been trending this way for years. I'm sure there was a time when the American cared more about the actual game itself than the drama and entertainment surrounding it. There was a time when you would wake up in the morning, pour yourself a bowl of cereal, and rush to throw on SportsCenter to catch the Top 10 plays of the day before running out the door to catch your bus to school. Maybe we were just young and naive. But it's the same thing that happened to MTV. At some point, people started to care more about all the other shit more than they actually care about the music. You had a hundred different reality shows at one point, but now the only thing on MTV is 24 hours of Ridiculousness.
Which is why I think now is the perfect time for lacrosse to takeover as the 4th major sport in America. If everybody just stopped tuning into the NBA, we wouldn't have to watch it continue devolving into 24 hours of Ridiculousness. Tune into the PLL instead, where the game actually matters more than all the shit that happens off the field. If everybody just stopped caring about the circus that the NBA has turned into and instead focused on the PLL, then all those ratings and money would flow into lacrosse, and the world would be a better place.
