Who's The Asshole In This Cape Cod League Baseball Game? The Batter For Posing Over A Homer, The Catcher For Being A Crybaby About It, Or The Pitcher For Giving It Up ?

Good old fashion shove. Gotta love a good old fashion shove (well aside from one person)

Anyone. Classic situation of a batter posing over a Home Run and a catcher being absolutely livid about violating baseball's unwritten rules. Then the batter being a hardo and chirping back, then the catcher gets in his face. A tale as old as time. Let's break down the situation .... who's the asshole in all of this?

The batter

He's posing over the home run with absolutely zero regard for sportsmanship, zero regard for the unwritten rules of baseball, and absolute no urgency to run to first base. Some can say this is asshole behavior for this guy, but the did hit it over the fence. As the old saying goes "You don't like us dancing then don't let us get in the end zone."

My ruling .. .batter is excused. Non asshole.

The catcher

I get where he's coming from. The guy stands there and shows up your team, especially your pitcher you gotta have his back. He's doing his part, getting upset and trying to start a fight. Can't blame the guy for being part of the system. No issues.

My ruling … not an asshole.

The Pitcher

Oh you mean the guy who gave up a moonshot? The guy who couldn't hit the zone? The guy who cost his team a run? Asshole. No questions asked. You don't want the guy posing? Then don't give up a bomb. Asshole.

Final thoughts … anything with the Cape Cod League … have to mention an iconic scene for a movie about the Cape Cod league. maybe the best scene in baseball movie history …
