It Was A Decent Tuesday For The Astros As Framber Valdez Tossed A No-Hitter On 93 Pitches Mere Hours After Houston Reacquired Justin Verlander

Have a day Houston! Not only did you get your former World Series winning ace and stud pitcher back, your current horse just threw a no-hitter! The 16th no-no in Astros history and the first by a lefty, Valdez has been awesome for them this year, quietly becoming one of the best pitchers in baseball.

It was also the Astros first individual no-hitter since.....Justin Verlander. Full circle baby! 1 walk, 7 Ks, and only 93 pitches needed for this no-no.

Hell of a performance and these guys are getting better and getting hot at the right time. Valdez walked Oscar Gonzalez as he led off the 5th and that was the only blemish. Double play from there and that was all she wrote as he faced the minimum in the 2-0 win vs Cleveland. This west in the AL West is going to be a real dogfight and the Astros look like the team to beat now.

Doing it on only 93 pitches is insane too. That is a 5-inning start for some pitchers. Framber is out here finishing an entire game without giving up a hit. Cool moment for Martin Maldonado too with this being the third caught no-hitter he's caugh, which ties him for 3rd most in history behind Carlos Ruiz and Jason Varitek. Neat little note there.

Valdez is feeling like his old self after his injury and JV is back in town, which has to be terrifying for the other AL contenders. Don't let the Astros get hot.

PS. This is an insane stat. Cleveland's hitting coach must be in HELL.
