Kevin Holland Brilliantly Chokes Out Michael Chiesa In The First Round!!!

SHOUTOUT TO KEVIN HOLLAND FOR KICKING OFF THE PPV ON THE RIGHT NOTE!

I'm not gonna lie tho - that fight was a bit weird. I don't really know what to make of it.

Michael Chiesa was returning off a two-year layoff here, after back surgery, and he did NOT look good at all in this fight. 

From the moment Holland began to pressure him, he reacted super poorly, and shot for a few desperation takedowns that weren't even close - leading to a knee that set up the D'arce. And actually, Holland said the knee that led to the finish didn't even land!

So while all credit is due to Holland after that awesome, nearly flawless performance - I just don't know what kind of fighter he actually beat. It might've been ring rust, it might've been the back injury....that just wasn't the Michael Chiesa I'm used to in there.

I think Holland should join the Welterweight Top 15 after that win, but he said after the fight that he's headed back up to 185lbs, because he likes to "eat steaks and have sex to make weight"....

God bless him. Seeing Holland evolve and grow as a fighter right before our eyes is crazy - his takedown defense was GREAT here and the quick decision-making to jump on that D'arce (a move that Chiesa had been submitted by twice already) was brilliant.

I'll watch him at 170, 185, 205, or 265. I don't care where he goes. Kevin Holland fights, and I'm watching.
