Ollie Schniederjans Is A Madman Who Commands Respect For Putting One-Handed In A Professional Golf Tournament

I remember several years ago when Ollie Schniederjans was supposed to be one of the next big young stars on the PGA Tour. As a junior at Georgia Tech, he'd won five of six tournaments leading into the NCAA Championship — holy shit! — and finished second there. Reached world No. 1 in the amateur rankings eventually, and even climbed as high as 77th in the Official World Golf Ranking during his earlier years as a pro.

Just goes to show absolutely nothing is guaranteed in golf. Makes you kind of understand a little more why some of these guys took the beyond-fuck-you LIV money and bolted. But anyway, you can see above that Schniederjans is putting ONE-HANDED in the Korn Ferry Tour's NV5 Invitational — streaming exclusively on Barstool.TV, by the way.

Schniederjans, whose name I'll be lucky not to misspell at least once within the text of this blog, is even more of a badass now than I already thought he was. Before I obviously had reverence for the all-world talent he showed at a young age. Still only 30 years old, the man doesn't need any big-ass hat for a sponsorship. He's still showing off that sick flow that'll make most 30-somethings jealous.

One of our esteemed analysts on the Barstool stream made reference to Robert Rock, another hatless wonder who once held off Rory and Tiger in the final round of a win at the 2012 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. These are the kind of deep cuts you can only find on our stream. You'd do well to tune in starting at 3:30 p.m. ET today and tomorrow.

Anyway, another reason you should give a damn about Schniederjans despite his somewhat obscure status these days: He is the fucking traj king:

As in low-trajectory stinger shots off the tee. Hopefully that's self-evident from the video above. I don't know how it's even possible to carry the ball that far when it hits maybe a 20-foot apex.

Through 36 holes at the NVT Invitational, Schneiderjans is nine under par, which leaves him only four shots off the pace set by Ryan McCormick and Wilson Furr. FORTY PLAYERS are within four strokes of the lead. Don't think I've seen that log-jammed of a leaderboard in my entire life.

it's going to be at least another season or two before Ollie makes his way back to the PGA Tour unless he gets through Q-School. He's too far back on the Korn Ferry Tour points list to make the jump back to the big circuit that way. Hang in there, Ollie. Rooting for you. If Ollie somehow returns to golf's biggest stage whilst putting one-handed, it may change the entire game as we know it.
