Anthony Edwards' Mission This Season Is To Beat The Warriors In The Playoffs Solely Because Of How Much Shit Draymond Green Talks

There are a ton of reasons to love Anthony Edwards. Not only is a he quote machine who always seems to deliver whenever he's in front of a camera, but he also happens to be one of the best young talents in the entire NBA. He's blossoming into a legit monster right before our eyes

But what I also love about Ant is he's not afraid. He embraces the grind rather than runs from it. One of Edwards' best traits in my opinion is his compete level, and that could not be more clear than hearing what his goal is for the 2023-24 season

Now this is why I love Anthony Edwards. You would think he feels this way because the Wolves maybe lost a tough playoff series to GS in the past, but that's not the case. In 2021-22 they lost to the Grizzlies in 6 and then last year it was the soon to be champs Nuggets in 5. So why is he singling out GS like this?

Simple. Because Draymond Green talks a bunch of shit

To me, this is what the NBA needs more of. Young stars who are not only awesome at basketball, but they are ready to challenge the vets of the league. The tide is turning in terms of current legends getting older and the new wave taking over, and make no mistake, Anthony Edwards is part of that new wave. I mean, he said that shit with his chest. You don't often hear star players call out specific teams and specific players like this, but that's why Ant is cut from a different cloth. It's not like he's writing checks his game can't cash, but I do think he has to be a little careful about what he wishes for.

You see, the thing with calling out Draymond like this and saying you want to face the Warriors means you're also taking on this fella

This is partly why I think Draymond talks so much shit, because in the back of his mind, he knows that Steph Curry will do the heavy lifting to back up his trash talk. As we know, baiting the Warriors and Steph is usually a death wish, so I love that Edwards isn't afraid to do it. In fact, he seems to welcome it.

Could the Wolves actually beat GS in a series? I wouldn't say it's impossible, but they certainly would need both KAT and Edwards to be much better than what we saw against the Nuggets. I'm also not sold that Steph wouldn't simply continuously attack Gobert in P&R until the Wolves had no choice but to take him off the floor. I do think it's possible we see this as maybe a 7/8 matchup or maybe in the 2nd round if the Wolves finally find a way to break through the 1st round, something they haven't done since 2003-04.

What I do know though is MIN/GS regular season games just got a little more spicy, and that's something we should all be able to get behind.
