After a solid day in which we finally hit with a home run prop, we came crashing back down to earth with a 1-2 day yesterday. The Dodgers/Rangers over hit with ease. The Cardinals couldn't get out of their way against the Cubs, and while Andrew Benintendi reached base twice against the Twins, he only recorded one hit against yesterday. But we're going to mix things up today. Look, I'm never going to be a good gambler. The least I can do is make things fun for y'all. Fuck it, Sundays are officially "Hot Hand Sundays." We take three hitters who have been seeing the ball well and bet on them to go deep. It should be fun, right? Let's do it.

Austin Riley to homer (+290) against the Brewers

I brought up how we're going with the hot hand, and no hitter has had a hotter week than Austin Riley. The dude has been absolutely unconscious. He has six home runs and sixteen RBI in his last five games. His OPS during that time is almost 2.000. I hit with a Riley home run prop the other night, and I feel like I'm pushing it by going back to him one more time, but I feel like I need to ride the wave here. The Brewers are pitching former Brave Julio Teheran. He has no former history against Austin Riley, but I don't know if that matters now. The Brewers could pitch Pedro in his prime, and Austin Riley would still see the ball well.

Kyle Tucker to homer (+400) against the A's

Kyle Tucker is the man. I wrote a blog about him yesterday, declaring him baseball's most underrated star, which I think is accurate. He has straight up abused Oakland A's pitching this year. I mean, I know most teams can brag about how they hit Oakland's pitching, but Tucker takes it to a new level. He's posted a 1.249 OPS in eight games this season against Oakland. Tucker had a three homer game two nights ago. Unsurprisingly, he was unable to repeat that success last night. In fact, the Astros bats went quiet, and they lost a 4-1 game against the worst team in baseball when they could've gained a game on the Texas Rangers. The Astros should be pissed; few baseball teams play better when they're pissed off. Given Jose Altuve's and Yordan Alvarez's injuries, the Astros offense is only hot when Kyle Tucker is. He'll keep the momentum going today.

Freddie Freeman (+380) to homer against the Rangers

Do we underrate Freddie Freeman? I know that sounds like kind of a wild thing to see. The dude has an MVP, a World Series, and a massive contract, yet I wonder if people know just how good he is. He's going to be a first-ballot Hall Of Famer when it's all said and done, and he's having one of the finest seasons of his career in 2023. More importantly, he's been red hot in this series against the Rangers. He is six for nine with three home runs in the first two games of this three-game set. Am I pushing it by betting the guy to go deep for the third day in a row? Perhaps, but as I expressed initially, we're going with the hot hand. I might be cheating a bit because Freddie Freeman is always hot. For real, when was the last time Freeman was in an actual slump? It feels like it's been ages. He's facing left-hander Martin Perez. Usually, it's frowned upon to bet on left-handed hitters to go deep against lefties, but Freeman's numbers against lefties this year are better than they are against right-handed pitchers. His OPS is over 1.000 against lefties this year. Hopefully, he can improve those numbers by going deep again today.
