The Papa Hops 16" Charity Softball Tournament Is TOMORROW - Let's Raise A Shit Ton Of Money To Gift To Families Battling Cancer

There's not a whole lot I'm proud of. Like...I have no redeeming qualities at all. Not a single one, aside from being able to throw the PISS out of a baseball.

I just spent 5 mins trying to adequately put my miserable life into words and came up with nothing. In an odd way, that's the perfect microcosm for my life. "I got nothing".

This clip describes me better than I could ever dream of though:

I am very proud to work with two fantastic charities in Chicagoland while putting my internet powers to use though. One of them is Weishfest, a charity that gifts monetary donations to young adults battling cancer via the Andrew Weishar Foundation.

Another is the Papa Hops charity 16" tournament via the Tom Hopkins Foundation. That tournament takes place tomorrow at Kennedy Park down on the South Side.

I say this with no embellishment: it's one of my favorite nights of the summer. The ENTIRE South Side comes out for the tournament. It's free to get in, BYOB and everyone is there for one reason: to get drunk, play (insanely) competitive softball, and raise funds for local youth athletics and assisting families that are currently battling cancer.

This one night event is in its 9th year and to date has raised about $700,000 and gifted it straight to families battling that god awful disease.

HERE'S THE CALL TO ACTION:

1. Click here to donate to the event - the Tom Hopkins Foundation is a 501c3 charity and every donation is 100% tax deductible. Toss them $10, $20, or $1,000,000 - however much you can afford to donate. You'll get it all back in your tax returns (at least I think that's how it works)

2. Pack a cooler full of Miller Lite, grab a few friends, the wife, kid, dogs, and whoever else and bring them down to Kennedy Park and watch some of the best 16" teams in the country lose to myself and Barstool Chicago

That's it! I promise you, you will have a blast and it's a great time for ALL ages. Sure, you'll be watching a bunch of mildly overweight idiots trying to decapitate baseballs, but it's all for a fantastic cause.

I PROMISE you'll have a great time if you make it out. Cheap fun on a Friday night that will be wrapped up by an awesome firework show.

Here's a video of the event from 2 years ago, narrated by the late, great Ed Farmer:

See everyone out there!
