There Should Be A Whole New Level Of Respect For Patrick Mahomes After 'Quarterback' Unveiled His In-Game Shit Talking Ability
So today was the release date for the Quarterback doc on Netflix:
Auto watch for me. You give me any sort of sports doc, especially in the Summer when we're in the slow sports time, it's going to get watched. That's especially true when you make it about NFL quarterbacks. Still a weird trio, but I guess you get all 3 levels with the star, the guy who people have no idea what to think and the journeyman. But this is about Mahomes specifically.
I have a newfound respect for him. I don't hate Mahomes despite his family being annoying as hell. I enjoy watching him play, because 1) my team is in the NFC and 2) he's fun as shit. I know it's a hot take, but I enjoy watching great players 99% of the time. What I didn't know is the guy is an elite shit talker. I didn't know what to expect when the man sounds like a former King of the South.
But hitting Maxx Crosby and the Raiders with a 'you woke up the wrong motherfucker' is elite. There are two forms to shit talking. Simple, direct message or a roundabout way to insult someone. Sure he repeats it over and over again, but it's a simple warning. He's also right because the Chiefs ended up winning the game. That's what matters in shit talking too.
I know it's tough to separate Mahomes from the annoying people around him, but this helps. Also shows why people should be mic'd up more often. I want the uncensored, true talking during games. I want to hear Mahomes talk shit. I want to see what he's really like on the field and not just the canned answers after in a press conference.
