Grudge Guy: Amon-Ra St. Brown Wrote Down The Names Of The 16 WRs Drafted Before Him And Reads It Three Times Before Every Practice

[Source] - "I actually still think about it," the wideout admitted on Monday's NFL Total Access with Mike Yam. "I actually have my goals written down in my notebook. What I want to achieve every year. So, what I want to achieve this year going into the season, my personal goals, and then right below that I have the 16 receivers written down, where they went to college right below that. And so, I read that whole list three times before I go to practice every day. It's something I'll never forget. Something I make sure I'm always reminded of."

I love this move because I love a good grudge. No one holds grudges better than wide receivers or NBA players and by grudge, I mean some fake motivation. It's what they thrive on. So if there were 16 people drafted before Amon-Ra St. Brown you're going to be reminded about it. Tom Brady does it. Draymond does it. Shit, even Tyler Herro does it and he was a lottery pick. Either way, you need to have a little grudge to be great.

We saw St. Brown on Hard Knocks last year recite the names of the guys:

Hey, I can list where guys went to college too! But I digress because I love St. Brown. I mean, shit, he's probably the 3rd or 4th best player out of that group? Obviously in a redraft you take Chase and Waddle over him. Then it's a debate between him and Smith. Think that's fair? Either way, I have a soft spot for guys like this and the fact that he's actually good. That's the key part. You can't hold a grudge if you aren't a good player.

It's also perfect that he's playing for Dan Campbell. No doubt in my mind Campbell encourages him to read that list more than three times. Think we all can agree three every single day is a little egregious, but I also know not to mess with a routine. I say it all the time, but no matter the sport, no matter the player, you have a routine. It can be as simple as taking a pre-game piss at the same exact time or wearing the same socks, you don't mess with a routine.

I look forward to drafting St. Brown too high in a fantasy draft this year strictly because of this fact. I also don't know whether to be excited or not if the Lions fail. Everyone is talking about them now and everyone (outside of NFC North guys) have a soft spot for them. They are the Lions! They are a losing franchise and now we're expecting them to breakout. What can go wrong?
