The Barstool New York HQ Remodel Is Awesome
Our old desks are gone. Replaced by comfy couches and plush rugs and ottomans and a lot of people are NOT happy.
And we've heard complaints that we look like a startup or a Delta lounge. But if you don't have haters, you don't have fans. So of course, the new look HQ2 has some fans, including yours truly.
I was one of the first to arrive today and tried sitting next to my prop betting protege/Trust The Data teammate, Chris Klemmer, who is on quite the heater, 17-6 (+9.98u, so shoot him a follow). But with four seats squeezing into a two desk row, I found it a bit cramped. So I moved over to one of the couches and am loving it. It's firm, but not hard, and has good back support. Plus I've got a nice arm rest and a great view of the whole office!
The conference rooms in the hallway have also been redone which is a big upgrade from just white walls.
The new office has also allowed people to pick their own seats as it's first come, first serve for the next month or so. This has already resulted in an interesting power dynamic that will surely continue to develop in the new world order.
But overall, this should be a creative space where I think people will flourish. To the moon HQ3!
