USA! USA! USA! Matt Turner Is An American Brick Wall And That's All That Matters

Matt fucking Turner. That's really it. That's the whole blog. I mean, sure, I don't want to go to PKs against Canada even with our C team (minus Turner). But that's the Gold Cup, baby. I'd love to find a way to have all our tournaments actually matter and make our A guys get more run together, but whatever. USA soccer won. That's what matters. USA wins, we all win. 

Hilarious to think just a couple years ago he wasn't even a guy for us. I mean Steffen was supposed to be the guy. Now he's a monster. We can look past him playing for Arsenal, he's a good ass keeper that we can rely on until it's Gaga's time. Those two saves to start the PK? All we needed. Well, we won the PK by making Canada move first during the standoff, but then Turner did his thing. Having a guy like that in net? It's how we advance in the Gold Cup with a C team and why the US can hang around no matter what.

It was a weird match. US looked like they won it with the Vazquez goal. Shout out Vazquez, FC Cincinnati star scoring in Cincinnati. Yeah sign me up for that. Then we had the VAR review on Miles Robinson with the handball on a fluke play. The Canada goal and the own goal.

Whatever, we won. That's all I care about. It's American soccer, it doesn't have to be pretty. It doesn't have to be perfect looking soccer. Just win baby. I don't care if it's the Gold Cup and this is what we're supposed to do. Let the C team and young guys out there and have them win. It's what we're supposed to be doing in this thing.
