The Empire Builds: Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, and Michael B. Jordan Now Own 24% Of The Alpine F1 Team, Valued At $900 Million

Did Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney create a hack that nobody else has figured out yet? Buy some low-level team, bring it all the fame and notoriety that comes with being Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, increase the value of said team a million %, and become bazillionaires in a few short years. They did it with Wrexham, and now they are going to do it with F1, investing $218 million with their pal Michael B Jordan into Alpine.

Now, I'm not an wheelhead, as F1 fans routinely and regularly call themselves. But even as a casual, I know Alpine ain't shit. You never log onto Twitter and see people talking about Alpine. I did a little blog research, as a good journalist does, and read that Alpine had zero podiums in 2022, which is the same number I had, so that can't be good. But now with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at the helm, I'm fairly confident that is about to change.

You gotta be so stoked if you're already on the Alpine team. Everyone gushes about Red Bull this, Ferrari that, blah blah blah. Little ol' Alpine is getting swirlied up and down the track week after week. And then they wake up today and see the two greatest sports owners of the last 2 years have dumped a boatload of money into you. It's like the Mighty Ducks when they get new jerseys and don't have to wear football helmets and construction vests anymore. You're a real team now, Alpine!

It is a shame the Ottawa Senators weren't sold to the fellas. Hockey could use a little kick in the caboose in the ownership world. Get a little buzz going. The Senators are sorta the Wrexham/Alpine of the NHL, so it would have made perfect sense.
