Master Troll Jimmy Butler Couldn't Resist And Decided To Get Involved In All The Damian Lillard Drama

It's no secret that when we get to the NBA trade deadline/free agency, NBA players love to troll fans. Usually, it comes with some sort of eyeball emoji tweet or something of the like. The point is, they know that as fans once we get to those time of years we're looking for ANYTHING to obsess and speculate over. I'd say that 99.9% of the time it ends up being bullshit, but that doesn't stop us each and every year. The speculation is part of the fun if you ask me.

So on Friday when Dame just so happen to go on IG live with a certain song playing in the background while all the Miami rumors are flying around

Of course this was going to set off the rumor/over reaction alarm. At the time when I blogged this I felt like it was pretty clear what was going to happen next. We were going to hear from Dame's camp about how this was all just a "coincidence" and blah blah blah. Right on cue, guess what happened

The music was just a coincidence. Damian’s not disrespectful. He’s not an instigator, so he’s not going to do anything out of character. There would be no reason for him to do that. That’s why he laughed (in the video). It’s a funny coincidence that a DJ would put that on.

OK, so I thought this was going to come from Dame's guy Chris Haynes, but the point is the same. So weird how Dame keeps finding himself in all these coincidences!

Meanwhile, you knew that there was no way this was going to be the end of the speculation. Not when there is more trolling to be done, to which we now shift our attention to Jimmy Butler.

I mean if you didn't see this coming from a master troll like Jimmy, my question to you is where have you been? No chance he was going to pass up an opportunity to add fuel to this fire, which is why I respect the move. Not only that, but that Dame album isn't terrible either so I don't fault Jimmy for listening to it.

The question now becomes, is this all just a coincidence by Dame and then simple trolling by Butler? That's entirely possible. It's also entirely possible that they are both telling the world what's about to happen once the new league year starts in 6 days. You combine these breadcrumbs with the new reports coming out

and from the outside looking in there just seems to be more and more smoke around this situation. At this point, I think it would be more shocking that Dame didn't end up in MIA compared to anything else. Not only that, but if you truly wanted to go the tinfoil hat route, just look at how Jimmy Butler's cousin is talking too

Again, maybe this is all your typical offseason bullshit and Butler is just trolling and his cousin is just trying his best for some wishful thinking. That's all certainly possible. It's also way less fun to speculate about, so I prefer the chaos option. That's what makes the offseason fun anyway, even if we're all wrong. Who cares, at the moment everything is on the table.
