The 2023 NBA Draft Was The Death Of The College Big Man

What a wild tweet. Last season, those guys were 3 of the top 10 players in the country. Oscar won National Player of the Year in 2022, Drew Timme has dominated college basketball for the past 4 years while becoming probably one of the most winningest players to play college basketball, and Sanogo won a National Championship as he became the most dominant player in March.

What do they all have in common? They all did not get drafted on Thursday night. What they also have in common is that they all can't shoot the 3 well, which is a big reason they didn't hear their name get called at all.

I guess all the accolades about being one of the best big men in the nation doesn't mean what it used to. Being able to protect the rim and dominate the paint clearly doesn't mean what it used to if you can't shoot from the outside. It feels like there will never be another Shaq kind of player ever again, which makes me a little sad. I think they can still be an asset in the NBA but who am I to say, you know?
