It’s very rare that Dana White admits he made a mistake when it comes to the fight business, but with the departure of fan favorite action fighter and top 15 ranked featherweight in the world Shane Burgos, he was willing to admit Burgos was the one that got away. He had Fight of the Night wars against the likes of Josh Emmett, Calvin Katharine and Shane Burgos. This man had so much mental will power against MMA legend Edson Barboza his body refused to be knocked out. This is coming directly from a doctor!!!
It was awesome chopping it up with Shane Burgos about his last conversation with Dana White before leaving the UFC, his upcoming match (Friday night on ESPN), his rise up in the MMA world, all his famous Fight of the Night battles, his dream matchups in MMA history and a ton more. We shared a bunch of laughs and some great fight talk.
Coincidentally Shane and I are from the same neck of the woods (Shoutout the 845). Small world. Not shocked the area I grew up in breeds trained killers like Shane Burgos and myself, of course. A media personality and a cagefighter. Basically the same level of day to day grit and perseverance needed for both professions.
