Genius 21-Year Old Law Student Worked A Loophole, Receives An Email From The NBA Officially Declaring Him Eligible For The Draft

[The Score] - A 21-year-old law student who's only played basketball at the recreational level will be among those attending this year's NBA draft.

"So, I went through the collective bargaining agreement, and there are a few conditions in the contract that you actually had to meet," Haber told WPLG Local 10. "I had to be four years out of high school. I waived my NCAA eligibility, and there's just a bunch of small little things that I ended up meeting, and I sent over an email to the NBA, and they got back to me and sent over paperwork right away."

As Haber discovered, he met the criteria to be eligible for the draft because he's at least 19 years old and graduated from a four-year university in the U.S. in the year the draft is being held.

I understand the kid sounds annoying in the TikTok, but I'm going to give him a pass here. I'm going to give him a pass because he simply found out a loophole and is going through with it. Do you know how much filling out paperwork sucks? I hate it, especially in the year 2023. Why isn't everything online these days? Go to a new doctor and gotta fill out those small lines with everything about your life, plus no one can ever read my handwriting.

This is what you should do if you're going to law school though. Bet your friends you can figure out loopholes through paperwork stuff and drink for free at the bar. That's the best way to live college life when you need a dollar to stretch as far as possible.

I also like that he's actually going to the Draft. Need him to pull a Samuel Dalembert and walk out of the stands. Still one of the funniest memories in NBA Draft. I know people do it now, but Dalembert was the first I remember just sitting in the stands and walking out as a late 1st round pick. Just had to dap up David Stern.

There's nothing better than beating your pals on a challenge. That's the key here. He's not going to get mentioned during the Draft. He's not going to do anything after Thursday. But he has this moment. He can always tell his friends he was eligible for the NBA Draft. He's not the first guy to do it, but he at least can show this video to his friends.
